Time to Relax

I couldn't wait until Show and Tell Friday to show this off.

I was excited when I checked the mail today. I got a package.

Chrissy at Meaningful Days sent this to me. It is a gift I won for participating in her Spring Cleaning Challenge. Thank you Chrissy!! I love it. It smelled so good.

What is it?

It is a notebook, 3 pens, a Lemon Lavender candle and a pouch of Bath and Shower gel.
I think it is time to relax.

Monday- Spring Cleaning

I started my Spring Cleaning for the week. I made a list this morning and have marked off a few things. I sure feels good. I have enjoyed walking down my hall to the bathroom, they are clean!! It really feels good to not see dust bunnies lining the walls in the hall and it is nice to be able to see clearly in the bathroom mirrors. I thought for a second on taking a picture of my BIG dust bunnies but decided not to gross anyone out. hahaha

I also dusted the furniture in the living room again. It don't stay clean... :) It does need re dusting every now and then.

I re cleaned the school desk but we haven't done any school. I was planning on just doing memory verse, math and reading but haven't made it yet. ???

So, now all I have left on my cleaning list is to clean the front porch. It is always so cluttered.

Are you wondering about the kitchen? I was having a mental block there so I decided if I was going to get anything else done, I would have to return to the kitchen at a later day. For some reason I just couldn't make myself get it finished. I am feeling good about cleaning again. When you feel you can't go on in a paticular place, move on, it will still be there when you are ready to clean it. haha.

Show and Tell Friday

Kelli at Theres No Place Like Home is hosting Show and Tell Friday. Go see what everyone is showing off.

Here's mine:

This is an Avon perfume bottle that I got from my Grandma a LONG time ago. I was little girl then. I remember her giving it to me. I will always treasure it.
On the bottom it says Here's My Heart Cologne. 1 FL OZ

I just pulled the head/lid off and that is the first time I remember doing it since I got it. It sure smells good even though it's empty.

Wednesday Spring Cleaning Check In

Chrissy at Meaningful Day is host a spring cleaning challenge which I am slowly but surely working along with.

I am having a hard time keeping going. It is that "I really don't want to do this" attitude.
Today I have been cleaning the fridge while baking some Oatmeal Raisin cookies.

Tips for cleaning:

  • Just Do it.
  • Make a list of what you need to accomplish for that day. Check them off as you get it done. This way you can see your progress and it encourages you.

Now I need to go finish the fridge, and work on the Lazy Susan and I think I still have one more drawer to clean, no make that two.

Go visit at Meaningful Days and join in on the fun. haha

Message in a Dream

I awoke this morning from a dream. I thought I would share. I feel it is a message for someone. I have someone that came to mind as soon as I woke but I think others could use it...

I was going to a funeral. When I got there, the lady wasn't dead. She was in the coffin waiting to die. They had her funeral all planned. It was suppose to take place in a few hours.

I found myself talking to the woman. I told her that Jesus came to HEAL and to SAVE us. I remember saying that I have a hard time believing that I am healed etc. but then I told her, "...but stop laying there thinking about dying and start thinking about LIVING!"

A nurse came by at that time and shook her head at me. She was "telling" me to get back and let the lady die so they can have her funeral. I went and sit down.

Are you "in your coffin" waiting to die? This could be in the area of finances, healing, relationships etc.
Let's start living, let go of the dying mentality and look to God for your healings in every area.

WOW!!

Spring Cleaning Kitchen

For this week, I am still working on the kitchen. I got a lot done on Saturday and yesterday.

I got most of the glass cabinet cleaned. I still need to do the bottom shelf.

I cleaned and reorganized the pantry.

I cleaned the outside of the fridge, counting the top.
Still need to clean inside it.

I cleaned the tops of all the cabinets counting inside and the doors.

I have some of the drawers cleaned. I tackled the "stash all" drawer yesterday and it looks much better, more room for more stuff. LOL.

I still need to do the rest of the bottom cabinets. I think I cleaned one of them and that's all.

I also need to do under sink. I really dread this because it is a mess. I will get it done this week though. My husband needs it cleaned out anyway so he can fix my sprayer.

I need to clean the stove/oven too. I don't like doing the oven part. It is just hard since I don't like to use chemicals. I haven't found anything that really works well and fast. Too much scrubbing. I really should get a liner for the bottom and then it would be much easier.

So left to do this week:

Clean:
bottom cabinets
under sink
fridge
stove/oven
bottom shelf of glass cabinet
rest of the drawers (9 more)

I think that's all. I will move on to another room IF I get the kitchen done this week.

Wednesday Spring Cleaning

I have not done much on my cleaning this week. It has been busy with goats being born. We are milking and then there are babies to feed. I think today may be an off day for new babies but I have to take my little dog to the vet right after lunch.
I am going to try to get something done today. I have a hard time getting started if I don't start in the morning.
I am starting to work in my kitchen. Here was/is my list for the week.
Monday:

Clean glass cabinet.
Tuesday:

Wednesday:

Spring Cleaning on Saturday

It sure can be frustrating to clean and then look and it is already a mess again in just a few days. I can't stop thinking as I clean how the Jewish clean. It makes me even more frustrated because I wonder how in the world can I keep my house clean, how can they? Is it realistic? Am I making more of it than really is? UGG. There are only three of us in this house and you would think there were 50. haha.
Ok, it may not be that bad but sometimes it feels like it.

Well, I have been working on yesterdays chores. I have swept and mopped the Dining Room and am working on the Kitchen. I hope to also get the rug swept before bed time.
I am going to plan my next weeks cleaning so I will be posting that later on, maybe on Monday.

Friday-Spring Cleaning

Today I got my yesterdays cleaning done. I didn't get my stuff done I had planned to do today. Maybe tomorrow.
So:
Today I dusted the bookshelf and rearranged some stuff on it. This bookshelf hold lots of books and some homeschool stuff.
I cleaned the bill table as best I could. My husband uses this place most and I didn't want to mix anything up. I also dusted the other piece of furniture in the dining room area.
I was reading at Domestic Felicity about Spring Cleaning, Jewish style and I can't imagine having to clean my house that way. I know it would be best for health reasons etc but it would take me all year and then I would have to start over. I am too much of a "keep everything" type of person, I have too much stuff. I admire Mrs. Anna T for being able to do it along with having a new born.

The day has come to an end. I guess I best be gettin' out of here.
Talk to you later.

Show and Tell

Show and Tell

Kelli at There's No Place Like Home is Hosting Show & Tell Friday and I thought since I have some things to show off this would be a great way to do it.
The pictures below are of some of my husbands wood carvings.

Don't you just love that bonnet?
I think he is quite talented.

Thurdays Spring Cleaning

Today I didn't do what I had on my list. I guess I got busy doing other stuff and looking stuff up on the computer. Tomorrow I will have to do two days worth to catch up.

They only thing I did out of the three things on my list was clean the school desk. It was so cluttered there was bearly enough room for Little Man to do his work.

We combined some of the crayons into one box and other stuff into the new empty boxes. I put some books and loose papers away.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. I hope to get started early, before everyone else gets up.
The picture is of our entertainment center that I kind of redecorated. I was going to show a picture of a wood carving my husband did but it was blurry. I will try later. It is in the picture but of course you can't see what it is.
While I was cleaning in the cabinets of the entertainment center, I thought it would be neat to show off some of my stuff. I may do a post on "what's in there". Or I may just do a show and tell on each one over a period of time. Who knows. LOL.
Ok, I am getting a little off subject. See ya tomorrow.

Wednesday cleaning

Today is Wednesday.

In keeping with the challenge put forth by Chrissy at MEANINGFUL DAYS I am in the middle of a big mess. Ha. I have to make a mess to clean a mess.

My cleaning is taking longer than I expected. I am use to just dusting the tops of the furniture but I am going in the cabinets and around the TV and anywhere I can reach. I also went ahead and washed the leather couches and chair and that was on the schedule for Thrusday. It is starting to feel so fresh in here.

A little extra I did was hang a picture on the wall. AHH! We haven't hung much on our walls in the two years we have lived here. It is hard for me to make a whole in the wall but I like the way it looks.

Tips:
  1. I am dusting the wood and the couches with a product I got from Melaleuca. I really like the cleaning products from there. I feel safe using them and they aren't harming my family.

  2. When I only have small places to mop, I will use a microfiber cloth instead of the mop. I can reach smaller places easier. I wet the cloth and then spray the floor with a cleaning product and them wipe/mop clean.

  3. Dust from top to bottom and before you sweep and mop.

  4. Don't have baby chickens in your room while you are cleaning. Well, they are in a pen but they continue to spread thier food everywhere. I have to keep sweeping. Hopefully they can go outside soon.

Now I guess I could be finished for today. I may work on the school desk since it is getting messier everyday. And I really need to vacuum.

I don't do windows

Hahaha!! Naw, I really do.

I got all my windows done in the front half of the house. 6 in all, inside and out. It is so nice to be able to look thru them now.

We had a windy rain storm a few weeks back and it blew dirt and dust all over the windows and they had been hard to see thru since then. Now the sun can shine in and I can see out.

Now, for some window cleaning tips. What do I use to clean my windows? Glad you ask.

Club soda and wash clothes.

I just put a sprayer into a litter bottle of club soda and whala..
My wash clothes are mostly older ones and some microfiber towels.

I use several clothes. One for cleaning around the edges of the frame and for the first cleaning of the window. Then a clean one for the second pass. There is usally a lot of lint with wash clothes but after the window is clean and the streaks are to a minimum, I will refold my cleanest cloth and wipe off the lint. I have been cleaning glass and mirrors like this for a LONG time. LOL.

Yesterday I got my spring cleaning chores all done. I think when I wrote I only needed to clean around the wood stove. I just swept that since I had deep cleaned around it not too long ago.

Now, how do you clean your windows? Do you have any tips to pass along? Please share.
