Last Spring Cleaning Check in

Today is the last day for Chrissy's Spring Cleaning Challenge at Meaningful Days.

I did not get finished with my cleaning but have enjoyed this challenge. I got more done than I would have if I hadn't taken her up on the challenge. She is a great encourager!

I would like to have finished cleaning our bedroom. It wouldn't take a lot to get it finished.
There is also another room that didn't get touched. It is a storage room right now. No organization at all.
Now I am off to get some other stuff done. Got to make some bread so we will have something for breakfast tomorrow and then make some cornbread to go with our beans that I need to get cooking. opps. Almost forgot about them. hahaha. Later.

Goat Milk

We have milk goats. Have you ever tried goat milk? It is so interesting when we tell people that we drink our milk and they wrinkle their nose. "I have never tasted good goat milk", or " that stuff is nasty." They haven't tried OUR milk. hehe. We have good milk.

What about the goat milk from the grocery store? Most of this, in my opinion, is nasty. I am so glad to have my own goats and my own fresh milk!!

We milk into a sterilized bucket, filter into a sterilized tote that is submersed in ice water, after 3 goats, we take this mix to our milk kitchen. While we wash dishes the milk continues to sit in the ice water, after most dishes are done the milk is poured into sterilized 1/2 gallon jars. At this point the milk is cold enough to drink.

That is why our milk does taste good. It can keep at least 3 weeks in the fridge and it still taste the same. Of course ours hardly last that long but it can.

Spring Cleaning Check In

Hello everyone!!

Last week I was discouraged about not having done much cleaning. Well, Thursday and Friday I did clean. I got my sons room done on Thursday. I forgot to take pictures of the before and after. It was a mess. Toys everywhere. They are still put up now and it is nice to walk into a clean room. We are planning to paint his room hopefully in the very near future. We were going to get a thing that shoots stuff on the walls for texture and then paint this week but we didn't get it done. Maybe next week.

Friday we changed our bedroom around and cleaned the floor real good. There is still lots of cleaning to do in there but it sure looks and feels a lot nicer. Also, we changed what side of the bed we sleep on and I am sleeping better. It is nice to have a change everynow and then. I did get some pictures so here they are.

The first three are before. The others are after.

I know it is still a mess but we got to clean under the bed and under some other stuff. We have decided not to sell the desk. It will go in my sons room after we paint and I am going to put school stuff on it. I don't know how this will work. He is good about leaving stuff alone but when cousins or friends come over I will have to keep an eye on it.

Then yesterday I cleaned the front porch. Here are pictures of that.

It's a little hard to see what I did because of the shadows but it does look a lot better.

So, that is what I have done. It feels sooooo good to have accomplished it.

Now, Chrissy has challenged us to clean one small area of the home daily between now and next week. Something like cleaning a drawer, organizing a cabinet etc. I will have to make a list so I can stay on track. I will post that later.

For Easter, or really Resurrection Sunday, we do a traditional egg/candy hunt.

After church, my family came over. We had a pot luck type lunch. I made a big pot of soup, my SIL brought roast and mashed potatoes, my Mom brought chicken fried steaks, macaroni, and the green chili cheese dip.


Most of us put the macaroni and cheese dip in our soup and it was sooooo good.


Afterwards, we did our candy hunt.



And then took a group picture.

After that we celebrated my nephews (the oldest one in the picture) birthday which was the next day. We had cake and ice cream.

It was a good time!!

Spring Cleaning Check In

Chrissy at Meaningful Days is working so hard to encourage me to spring clean. She set a challenge to get it all done by the end of April. I haven't been doing very good.

I know, shame on me. I have been sooo busy.

We waited till the last minute to get our taxes finished. I am glad it is over.

I also helped my mom and dad get theirs done.

I have also been trying to get all my planting finished. I think I have almost finished. I have one more kind of seed to plant. It is suppose to rain here tomorrow so I'm trying to get it all done by then.

I know these are all excuses but I haven't even had much computer time so I KNOW I have been busy. LOL.

I will get back to it soon. I don't have anything scheduled for tomorrow and Friday so I hope to get Little Mans (who isn't all that little anymore) room clean.

Spring Cleaning Check in

I got my desk cleaned off last week. That was my main goal. It was a MESS!! We had taken our computer off the desk last year and then I just started piling papers and other stuff on it. Now I just need to sell the desk. After it is gone we will put a love seat in its place. It is in our bedroom.

I have been working on sorting some of my horse models getting them ready to sell on ebay. They are the small Stablemates from Breyer. I started collecting in 1995 or so and collected for a couple of years. I had taken a video of all them so I could tell which is which. I am looking thru the video and labeling them.

I also hope to get my sons room cleaned this week.

Spring Cleaning Check in

I just almost for got to check in for the Spring Cleaning Challenge at Meaningful Days.

So far I have cleaned on Monday. I posted about that Monday.
Yesterday was too busy and today was too. I feel like I messed with goats all day.
Hopefully Tomorrow and Friday will be better.

When I get a chance, I will take some pictures and post them.

Now, it is time for bed.
