Hallelujah!!

Hallelujah

At the top of my lungs I will sing hallelujah.

Heard this in a song today. I was then shouting "Hallelujah"

What does this mean?

Here is what my King James Concordance says about it: See Alleluia, so I did.

Here is what Alleluia says:
allegoreo, al-lay-loo'-ee-ah; of Hebrew origin[imper. of 1984 and 3050] ;praise ye Jah!, an adoring exclamation:-alleluiah.

So then I looked up the 1984"

halal, haw-lal'; a prim. root; to be clear (orig. of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence to make a show, to boast; and thus to be (clamoroulsy) foolish; to rave; causat. to celebrate; also to stultify: -(make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool (-ish, -ly), glory, give [light], be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, [sing, be worthy of] praise, rage, renowned, shine.

Whew...

then I looked up the 3050 word:

Yahh, yaw; contr. for 3068, and mean. the same; Jah, the sacred name: -Jah, the Lord, most vehement. Cp. names in "-iah", "-jah."

Looked up 3068:

Yehovah, yeh-ho-vaw; from ??? (cant read it) the self-Existent or Eternal; Jehvah (not sur on this word, it could have some letters missing), Jewish national name of God: --Jehovah, the Lord.

So I guess Hallelujah means "Praise God, Jehovah, but do it foolishly with all your being."

Psalms 1:1-3

Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalms 1: 1-3

I read this this morning and I had to pick it apart and see what it said to me. Here is some of what I came up with:

Blessed is the man

who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly

To me this says we have to be careful where we get out counsel. These days we can get so much "counsel" on the Internet. There are blogs everywhere, forums were we can post questions and give our own personal advice. We read them and sometimes take what they say as sound advice, but is it godly? Even if the advice is from Christians, is it always godly? Think about it and consider this as you read. I know a lot of the time I can be swayed with what someones says and think it sounds pretty good but then when I run it by my husband he gives me a different view.

I also thought about public schools. If we send our children to sit in a Godless environment all day are they getting godly counsel? I know not all schools are ''bad'' but if God isn't allowed, they aren't godly, but instead, anti-christ. Think about it.

Nor stands in the path of sinners

This could be seen several different ways. We should not sit where sinners travel. It is possible that we could end up following them because sin does look "fun". Like a little child when they see something enticing, they forget the parents and walk off not thinking of the harm that could come to them.

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful

Now this one I am still thinking on. Right now all I think of is don't get comfortable with being scornful. I had to look up that word but it is still hard to understand. Here is the definition : Scorn: extreme, often indignant, contempt.

It refers to the word contempt which means the feeling one has toward someone or something one considers low, worthless, etc.

So, don't sit and think of others low and worthless....

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.

The one who doesn't walk in the councel of the ungodly, doesn't stand in the paths of sinners nor sit in the seat of the scornful, HE will delight in the law of the Lord and meditate in it day and night. HE will be blessed.

He shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in its season, whose leaves also shall not wither;

I would think that a tree planted by the river would receive plenty of nourishment and water. It would be fruitful. If I stay planted in Gods Word I will be fruitful. I will bear much fruit. My leaves will not wither. I will not live a dead life.

And whatever he does will prosper.

Yes!! This is great. So, if I walk with godly counsel, watch godly people, and sit with happy, positive people and stay in God's Word, I will be fruitful, live a productive life and PROSPER in every thing I do. Amen!

Breakfast

This morning for breakfast I made fruit salad for myself and my son.

I cut up a whole apple, a banana and added a small can of Mandarin Oranges, some raisins and a sprinkle of raw oatmeal. Then I poured a little of the orange juice in and stirred it up. This is a good way to get some of your fruit intake. You can add a little more oatmeal. Since I started doing this, I prefer my oatmeal uncooked. If you don't like the texture of it, you can let it set about 10 minutes and it will soften some. YUM! YUM!

Money Savings

My husband and I were talking about ways we could cut back to save money. We relized there wasn't a lot we could do right now. We have our regular house hold bills, and then the terrible, unhealthy credit card bills. Then we have 1 car payment.

We don't have cable.

Our house is mostly electric and we have a wood stove for heating. We have a propane tank instead of gas.

All our lights are the energy saving twisted florecent type.

All of our clocks except one uses batteries.

We unplug most things that would continue to draw electricity like chargers, tv's, and computer at night.

On our phone bill we only have the minimum stuff. The only extra there is the internet bill which will stay cause I can't do with out it. :)

We don't go out to eat much. We try to only do that once a week. This may be a lot to some but it is our entertainment since we don't go to movies much and don't even rent a lot of movies.

I could start clipping coupons for the grocery's. I have never been good at that. I can get a lot of coupons and then I forget to take them to the store with me. hahaha.

What are your thoughts? Any ideas?

Unsettling news.

I listen to KGNZ radio. On the news today before lunch I heard that that eHarmony.com is opening a site for same sex singles. The reason for this is because of a discrimination settlement. They are paying a man $5,000 dollars in the settlement and opening this new site. They didn't even break the law!! It is so sad. I keep thinking, "What is the world coming to?" Can you imagine what it is going to be like in the near future? Business can't NOT hire a same sex person. If they don't hire them, they will be sued for discrimination and they will loose!! They will HAVE to hire them or they will be sued. Well, this is the way it seems to me. It may not be that bad but it may be worse. I tell you it makes me want to cry. We are loosing our freedoms. "They" think they are getting freedom but we are really loosing it. It use to be illegal to be "same sex" (said this way as not to use the other terms.) Now we HAVE to accept it. Under the Obama rule, I am afraid it will all happen sooner than later. Oh God, forgive us!
If you would like to read more about this, you can go here. I wish I could find the radio news article but haven't yet.

My amazing husband!

Sunday when I came home from church, I noticed the kitchen cabinets were cleaned off. We then went to eat lunch and my DH and I were talking about life and at the time I wasn't really excited about my house because it is such a mess. My husband said, "did you not notice what I did?"
I said, " I seen you cleaned the cabinets...oh, did you do dishes too? I didn't look over there. "

Well, he had cleaned the kitchen and even mopped the floor. When I got home I got to relizing how wonderful and amazing my husband STILL is and how I had forgotten. How time and life will go on and we start taking things for granite.

Later that evening I told my husband I thought he was amazing. He said he thinks that is the first time I told him that. WOW. I need to work on that. More compliments for my husband.

Terry and I have been married 16 years. We have 1 adopted son who is 5 years old now. We were married 11 years before we adopted Jonathan and so we had that long together before kids. It was nice and I would not want it different now. Now I am not saying that after 16 years, things have to be different. We should have a honeymoon mentallity all the time. How can we do that? I think if we continue to build our mate up, never dwell on the negative and NEVER talk bad about them it will be a lot easier.
